Česnek

Slovenian garlic, an indispensable ingredient in your kitchen. Handpicked, carefully cleaned and air-dried in the traditional manner, it retains an incredible aroma, an intensive flavour, longlasting freshness, and a natural look.

Why are Slovenian stores no longer flooded with Chinese garlic? Well, it was precisely the shortage of homegrown garlic in our stores that inspired us at KMG Panorganic to address this issue and supply Slovenians with some high-quality, aroma-rich garlic, which is called “česnek” in the Prlekija region, where we are from.

Our garlic grows on the fertile soil of Prlekija and arrives in the stores still fresh, since it only travels a couple of miles across Slovenia and not thousands, such as garlic imported from abroad. Slovenian garlic ČESNEK is very much alive, which becomes apparent later on as it begins to sprout. It has an incredible aroma, a strong flavour, and a characteristic sticky shell, which testifies to the quality of the product. The imported garlic, on the other hand, features a much worse flavour, a less distinctive smell, and considerably fewer nutrients.

Because of how it is produced, Česnek holds two certificates – Global GAP (GGN 4052852518635), which represents the highest level of good agricultural practice, and the integrated production certificate, which denotes an environmentally sound agricultural production that produces high quality and healthy food.
Quality garlic is considered one of the most useful vegetable crops due to its beneficial effects on general human wellbeing. It contains potassium, calcium, vitamin C, provitamin A, and choline. It is also a natural antibiotic (as it contains allicin) and antiseptic. The various essential oils, allyl methyl sulfide, and other sulfurous substances give the garlic its characteristic smell and flavour.
